It just makes sense to want the Miu Miu Deerskin Front-Lock Satchel in your life, I mean, look at it: the perfect hue of stone matched with delicate hardware, a classic turn-lock closure, and plenty of room while looked perfectly polished is reason enough to splurge on this luxe bag. Must-have bags from Miu Miu is nothing new (the fabulous quilting, piecing, applique, and buttery soft leathers of bags from past seasons are reason enough to go into credit card debt), but this one possesses such understated beauty that we are convinced it will be the focal point of any look that you could possibly pair it with. Regardless of if you’re a ‘top handle’ or ‘shoulder strap’ girl (and of course, you have either option with this bag) you’re soon to rapidly fall in love with the Miu Miu Deerskin Front-Lock Satchel, proving that although Miu Miu may be the little sister brand to Prada, she’s certainly the more stylish one.
- 6pm.com – My favorite. Not only does the site have the same intuitive navigation of Zappos, but the deals are simply unbeatable! I snagged these of Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels for only $185 (originally $995)
- Gilt.com – This and the next link (#3) are both invitation-only sale sites, but you can get in now by clicking thru my links! Gilt Groupe provides access to Men’s and Women’s coveted fashion and luxury brands at prices up to 70% off retail. Each sale lasts 36 hours and features hand-selected styles from a single designer.
- Ideeli.com – Another invite-only sale site with well-known brands at prices up to 80% off! Each day sales begin at 12PM EST and last for 40 hours, or until items are sold out. I scored this pair of Melissa shoes for just $3 (I had a $75 credit from inviting friends, so I only had to pay shipping)!
- Yoox.com – You can find tons of rare, last-season and current pieces at rock-bottom prices here. For example, get these Giuseppe Zanotti open toe pumps for just $195 if you wear a size 9.5:
- ShoeHunting.com – Of course I have to mention ShoeHunting! It’s a fun community of shoe lovers where you can find the best prices on hard-to-find shoes, and discuss your most recent purchases and shoe lusts. See my ShoeHunting profile here

When I first started Shoegasm Sundays, I figured I could feature a shoe from New York’s Shoegasm for all my native readers. Of course, I didn’t think that through completely because I covet (drool) over shoes from almost everywhere. I’m usually very good at mixing high and low and this week’s shoe is quite high!
These devastatingly beautiful booties almost made my heart skip a beat when I laid my eyes on them. Hailing from Maison Martin Margiella, a good friend of mine snagged a pair in black for herself but I’m way more partial to this shade – nicknamed Petroleum. In my dreams, I envision these with dark wash skinny jeans and a white tee, topped off with some fun chunky necklaces.
Please, never wake me up! Make these Printed Python Slouch Velvet Booties yours via ShopBop for $775, which IMO isn’t THAT bad for these!

Guerlain
Les Voilettes Mineral Loose Powder - infused with minerals and has a very cool, exclusive opening system so you never end up with excess powder on your brush (and your face!) Available in five shades, $56, and becomes available in September 2010
Shalimar Eau de Parfum - you are correct if this name sounds familiar; the ‘juice’ has been around since 1925, however the bottle design has been recreated by Jade Jagger (daughter of rocker Mick Jagger). Also available in September, price range $72-$123
Acqua di Parma
Colonia Essenza – The storied Italian brand introduces a new fragrance for fall, arriving in specialty stores come August 13th, called Colonia Essenza, a citrus woody scent, which although is meant for men, I easily could see myself wearing it! Price range: $90-$125. In case you’re not familiar with the brand, it originally launched in Italy in 1916 and sold in men’s tailoring shops meant to be used as a spray on the collars of shirts.
Kenzo
Flower by Kenzo-again this may sound familiar to you, BUT the major difference for fall is that Kenzo is selling an eco-friendly refillable pouch at a lower price point than buying an actual new bottle ($72 for 100ml verus $92 for the bottled version).
Emilio Pucci
Miss Pucci – I had written about the launch of this in FPD’s Tidbits of Fashion News a few weeks ago, but can now verify that the perfume smells absolutely delightful. A both floral and musky fragrance, it slightly reminded me of another beloved favorite, Marc Jacobs Daisy, with top notes of elegant magnolia and Sicilian water lemon. Available in August, price range: ($53- $89)
Givenchy
Le Prisme Eye Quad-I absolutely love the texture and the color palettes of Givenchy eye shadows, and for fall 2010 six new color ‘harmonies’ launch, including Purple Show (my favorite), Midnight Look, Pastel Model, Khaki Egerie, Blue Collection, an Siena Silhouette. Available in August, price: $56

Worn almost as a chic badge of honor, thanks to Valentino and Sonia Rykiel, roses are a HUGE trend in fashion, appearing on both clothing and accessories alike. Having become less camp and more luxe over the years, it’s high time to find the perfect oversized rose for you. From roses that fall in soft knit layers to stiffer petals, and even the more more ostentatious varieties found in leather iterations on a bag, there are all kinds to suit your fancy. Our picks are for both the modest and superfluous rose-wearers – which is your favorite?

What better time than the August heat to take the plunge and dive head-long into a bit of skin with a deep v-neck?
Tanned and relaxed from long summer days, it’s the optimal moment to shelve the conservative and demure influences (we can wear turtlenecks 9 months of the year!) and hop into something elegant. And as always, we’ve got options: from a low cut blouse to a mesh-encased top or a plunging gown or even a low-cut tee, you can make it your own. We share our picks for some outstanding looks to try if you’re feeling a bit daring at your next summer party.

Ok so you like Proenza Schouler bags…I do too. If you have a lot of bags and do not feel like spending $2,000 on a bag, I found the most amazing alternative for you. It is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Saddlery Sophie Convertible Satchel.
Look at the photo. The bag is made with a great detachable strap that can be adjusted to make the bag a shoulder strap or a cross body messenger bag. The double buckles give the bag that Proenza Schouler look with a saddle bag vintage twist. The distressed forest green leather makes the bag military chic. It is really the perfect bag for a great price.
For you ladies who usually stick to one color palette when it comes to your fashion selections (hey, we’ve all been there before), now is the perfect time to step out of your comfort zone and experiment with color. The latest styles of tees, dresses, and pumps are now coming in highlighter hues such as neon pink, yellow, green, and orange. If you’re looking for another way to wear this trend, try an accessory or two with an outfit for just the right amount of pop. Here are a few of our favorites that embrace this season’s ode to color with just a touch of neon. These pieces will even make the pickiest color gal give this neon bright look a shot.

Chelsea Clinton got married over the weekend! The once mocked “ugly duckling” (she looked like a normal teen to me, but whatever) was certainly a swan in her Vera Wang dress! The ivory strapless gown featured a silk tulle diagonally draped bodice with a raw edged laser-cut swirling silk organza ball skirt and train that was seriously to die for! For the reception, she changed into a Vera Wang silk tulle Grecian gown with a crisscross back and a narrow black grosgrain belt. So many brides switch out dresses these days, which I find a little odd. I designed my own dress, and once I put it on I’m never gonna want to take it off! Why spend so much money on a gown you wear for a couple of hours?
But congrats to the happy couple, who looked lovely!
